Today, February 6, 2015 was a great day! Firstly, everyone arrived at school. Once we got to school we got a little bit of free time. We were just not able to play on the soccer field, nor the playground.
Once our teacher came to pick us up we walked to class and unpacked. We took our things we needed out of our backpacks and put our backpacks in room twelve. We all went inside and put our stuff away.
After we put our stuff away in our desks we did Accelerated Reading. Some of us did not get to read independently, some of us had to read with a first grader from Ms. Nelson's class. The students who did not have a 1st grade reader read until about 8:15 am.
We all then went to our ELD class. Some of the students in my class switched to a different class, and some students from a different class came to my class. In my class during ELD we were assigned to do a project about an event or a person that did something, or that happened. Robert Hofstadter was the person that I was going to do the project on, with my partner.
Next, we all returned to class if we still weren't in class. Once we all returned we had assignments to accomplish. Our first assignment was to take our daily quiz on www.xtramath.org, if we finished that then we had to fill in our reading rewards, and check if we read everyday in the month of January. If we finished those assignments then we had to finish our character sketch, on www.glogster.com , because later in the day we would have to present them.
Once we all finished our character sketch we went to recess. During recess many of the students who were outside either played soccer, just talked, eat breakfast in the cafeteria, or played on the play ground. At 10:25 the bell rang, which meant we had to line up so that our teacher could pick us up.
After that, we got to class and got ready to do a Mystery Skype! Lourdes and I where were the spokes people. It turns out that we skyped to Milton, Pennsylvania. When we finished skyping with them we had to transfer our notes that we took on to our chromebooks.
Following our skype session we went to the school library. Our job was to pick either one, or two books about an african american person, because it is black history month. My african american person was Michelle Obama. When we all had our book(s) we went back to class.
Then, at around 1:00 students from Caltech University arrived at our classroom to teach us how to create a game. They taught us how to create a multiplayer game, called pong. We tried it out, and the game was really cool. They also tried to put our class in a line from oldest to youngest. But we did not get that quite right. These students left at about 2:15, right when the dismissal bell rang.
Finally, we signed out of everything on our chromebooks and then went to go get our backpacks from room #12. We went back to our home room, room #20 and wrote down our homework in our agendas, and packed up all of our stuff. But, before I left the classroom I said,” Good bye Mrs. Citizen have a good weekend.” but I don’t think she heard me. That was what we did in class on the day of Febraury 6, 2015.
