We line up. We went back to the classroom and put our backpack in room 12.
Then we got our reading folder and read for 30 minutes. The nurse came to our class. Then she took us to room 8. For me she did the eye check first followed by the hearing check. Then I went back to reading for a little while. At the end of our time we got to mark were we stopped reading.
Once we finished, it was time for our E.L.D. class. Some of us stay in Mrs. Citizen’s class and others go to Ms. Moses’ class. Only 2 of our classmates visit Mrs. Palmer’s class. In Mrs. Citizen’s class, students are completing their review of a scientific article. In Ms. Moses’ class, we worked on vocabulary words.
Following E.L.D., we went to PE. We were instructed to run 3 laps without walking. We played soccer after we finished running. The teams were divided evenly to make sure we had equal amount of girls and boys. Our team won 2-0.
At 9:30 am we concluded our soccer game and entered the classroom. We are always given time to tend to our personal needs: use the restroom, drink water, and use deodorant.
After we finished in the restroom, we started to work on our native tribes. I got information and then Naomi left to violin. Because she left, I had to do every thing by myself. I got information for the tribe. She did not return until after recess. Once she returned, we continued to look for information about our 4 tribes.
Then Mrs. Citizen said to stop working and clean up our areas. It was time for music class. In music class we practiced singing several songs and made music with our legs and hands. We made various musical patterns using our bodies.
After music class, everyone had to use their index cards to write down about 25 high frequency words. We will start to help the kindergarten students in Mrs. Venable’s class. These words will help the students become better readers and writers.
Finally, it was time for lunch. Everyone eats quite quickly. When the food is gone, we go outside to play for about 30 minutes. We can choose to play on the structure, basketball, soccer, handball, or tetherball.
Once lunch was over, it was time for our music block. Students either go to percussion, recorder or guitar. I am in the recorder class. We have learned a couple of songs only.
Lastly, it is time to go home. We got our backpacks and put the chrome books away. We write our homework in our agendas and line up to go home. I go to the Pals’ program.
